In Sioux City, Iowa, a bad contractor is in hot water for theft. Troy Risdal of Frontier Contracting, took over $10K for a roof repair job, and he never finished it. As usual of someone who commits contractor fraud, he had every excuse and got aggressive when clients rightfully wanted their money back.
In addition, he wrote some bad checks to his own company.
This is a classic case of both a contractor bad job and contractor scam. When someone needs a timely repair such as a roof, the longer a contractor takes, the more damage the home is. With ghosting, many clients may just think the contractor is busy and they don’t want to sound pushy until it’s too late.
Luckily, he’s going to be added to the bad contractor list.
